
Jeff Henry

Jeff Henry began his career with accountants Touche Ross before joining the BBC. He then spent six years as a Director and General Manager of Scottish Television Enterprises, dealing primarily with Network programming, production and overseas distribution.
In 1994 he joined NYNEX CableComms (now Cable & Wireless Communications/NTL), then the UK’s largest cable company, as Executive Director of Programming and then added the role of Executive Director, Marketing. He was responsible for the launch of numerous channels on the cable systems as well as the successful introduction of the company’s first pay-per-view events and local programming output. As director of CPP1 (Cable Partners Programming Partnership) he directed investment into cable exclusive programming.
In 1996 Jeff Henry was appointed as Managing Director of London News Network, the joint venture company owned by Granada Media Group and Carlton Television, responsible for providing a seven day news as well as an ITV national and regional transmission service. He also ran a subsidiary, I.S.N. (Independent Sports Network), which produced network football and rugby for ITV.
Jeff Henry joined Granada Sky Broadcasting, a joint venture between the UK’s two largest media companies, as Chief Executive in March 1998. He was responsible for three channels Granada Plus, Breeze and Men & Motors on cable and satellite. He launched all the channels on the new digital platforms and steered them to new record ratings levels.
In July 2000 Jeff Henry was appointed by the as Chief Executive Officer of The Hallmark Channel throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa overseeing commercial activities in over 30 territories. He devised and produced one of the most successful channel launches in multi-channel, creating a top 5 profitable channel within four years. This resulted in the most profitable period in the company’s history. Jeff was a key member of the team that led the successful sale process.
In May 2005 he joined ITV to devise and run a newly created division (ITVC) responsible for developing consumer revenues. In its first year Consumer launched services in mobile, broadband and significant new transactional revenue streams making it a significant profit centre for the company. The critically acclaimed re-launch of ITV.com as a world class video online site was followed by a period of unprecedented growth
At the start of 2010, he founded JRM Media LLP to exploit new media opportunities. Its first online interactive venture called TellyLinks.com which launched online and on network television the following month.
In July 2011 Jeff was appointed CEO of FilmFlex Movies Ltd, one of the largest and most successful movies-on-demand service providers in Europe, backed by joint venture partners Sony Pictures Television (a Sony Pictures Entertainment Company) and The Walt Disney Company EMEA. He developed a white label movie service in both rental and Electronic Sell Through (EST) and secured a major new HMV contract. In addition he has extended development and deployment of the VOD Movie service from Television onto mobile, tablet and connected TV platforms.
